It's alright, I suppose. Unfortunately I feel like the sidechaining are drums are quite off. Drums here seem to be a little too energetic and feels more like a loop than something made to fully compliment the melody, the sidechain also seems to be 4x4 too instead of the usual D&B pattern... quite odd.

AustonMusic responds:

You are exactly right. I will focus on the energy of the drums and sidechaining for any other DNB projects if I decide to put out more. Thank you for the feedback!

Not really sure what to think of this track, to me it sounds like a pretty rushed imitation of phace's tunes with some of the synths and the snare especially sounding off compared to what I'd expect. The snare here seems to lack some high end and most of the synths aren't as plucky as I would've hoped. Best thing here seems to be the bass hits and vocal chops, but I also think they could benefit with some more compression and high end. All of those are the only problems I could really find with this track, so it's still pretty good imo.

Demonicity responds:

if i release this to a label meph will probably help me make the track sound more juicy

Fucking hell we do not deserve a track this amazing

Whew, the atmosphere here is unmatched. The melody and arpeggios are beautiful. The only real complaints I have here are me finding the fade out outro to be a little lazy and the drums to be a little too unnecessarily punchy for how weak they sound compared to the other synths in the mix. Overall though, it's lovely.

nichi777 responds:

i agree the outro is lazy lol, but i ran out of time for the contest! had to do something ya know? thanks for the feedback homie

My god that sub is HUGEEE. Only problems I really found were some of the transitions and mild repetition, could've had a downlifter at 1:36 and a different break at the second drop. The outro didn't really wow me that much either, might've been better with the usual pad and then a slow tapestop effect but that's just me. Besides those little critiques, I quite like this!! Keep on making good shit.

Really good stuff!! The second those vocals went chipmunky I knew I'd love this song, everything asides from the somewhat dry vocals at the first minute gives me the chills at how robotic and cold everything sounds for something like this. Can't believe I missed out on this for a couple days. :p

This track grooves pretty hard! Everything here's great, asides from the point mentioned by DJ-Cassell - I also think the piano's a little too harsh, especially near the end. Asides from that, solid work!!

Jumbs responds:

Ayyyy I'm gonna invest more in this mix later this week. Maybe I should try some different compression settings for that piano. I set it a little high since its playing the melody, but maybe its a little much when its comping chords. Thanks for the review dude!

Didn't expect a tune like this on NG today, but it's a pretty nice surprise. The only thing I don't love about this track is the clipping, I just don't really feel like it fits with the track's atmosphere that well. If the clipping was in the context similar to Voysol's Norfair, then I'd appreciate this one a bit more. Still nice as fuck, keep it up!

First of all, I had no clue you're on NG. oxobun from SoundCloud here :p

Secondly, this track is fucking amazing. It's a horribly mashed up mess yet everything still fits whilst creating a terrifying atmosphere. I'd say the only things I find weird are the slight emptiness of the first part and the lack of noisy layers - if you use FL, Distructor's Fuzzy preset is pretty good for just that. At this point I'm nitpicking, so I'll shut up now. Solid work!!

CylrielOfficial responds:

thank you so much, triplebarrel! means a lot <3

This track's pretty neat. The pads create a chilling atmosphere which is complimented by the vocals, but there was also some things which didn't really work out in this track's favour.

I found some of the sub notes to be a little bit high for this track, maybe tone some down a fifth. Another thing I didn't really like was how weak the main drums are compared to the arpeggio's volume for how punchy they seem to be, so the arp might need some sidechaining or volume adjustment. The second drop was also pretty similar to the first, with it only being longer. Not really anything wrong with that but hearing essentially the same section twice in a 6 and a half minute track can get a little mind numbing... for me at least. It's still nice.
